Jordan Lewis Cook who is a former employee of Gun Lake Casino has been held responsible for unclogging and maintaining of the cash-out machines of the said Casino. He recently confessed to stealing over $84,500 cash, all over a span of fourteen months.
Cook faced federal charges for stealing from the Indian Tribal Organization. This essentially carries a heavy fine of up to $250,000.
His sentence is scheduled to take place in the month of January.
The thefts took place between the months of September ’21 and November ’22 at the Gun Lake Casino.
His responsibilities at the Casino included, aiding in clearing out of the cash out machines. For performing the task, he had to make use of a key card for opening up the machines. He essentially performed the theft when doing this task at the Casino.
The federal charge pertaining to theft against Cook got originally indicted in the month of March. During his plea deal, he confessed his guilt in late August. The plea deal also states that he has to pay a full restitution of the money that he stole from the Casino.
